Project Description
The 21,000sf addition consists of a gymnasium, eight classrooms, teachers' offices and workrooms, and boys and girls locker rooms. A covered playground sits adjacent to the addition.
Highlights
The addition allowed the school to remove the portable/modular classrooms that had been in use. There are two roof structures that match in size and slope; however, they were built quite differently. The gymnasium needed high clearance for basketball and volleyball, which was achieved by using a customized steel structure. Standard wood-framed trusses were used on the classroom side of the building.
